When opening Exodus and going into the Trakt Lists, the content matches Trakt contet (seems to actually grab the data fresh from, whereas the homescreen shortcut link seems to grab stale cached data)

Using custom skin that allows homescreen shortcuts to Video Add-ons but it doesn't seem to update the link's content reguraly If I go into Exodus and view my Trakt list from there, it is current with each show I add as long as I've re-ran the Trakt add-on after adding a TV show. It does seem to be updated when I first boot Kodi up, however, if I add shows today, they won't show up until tomorrow.

Running the Trakt add-on doesn't refresh this homescreen link either. This works great and almost flawless, except the fact that you can't seem to force the the homescreen shortcut to update. I use Kodi 16.1 Jarvis with Aeon Nox skin (running on stock kodi side-loaded firestick) and have a similar homescreen link layout (TV Shows, Movies using the main homescreen links to shortcut to VideoAddOns->Exodus->My Trakt Lists.
